Three MCPS wrestling teams advanced Wednesday to the Maryland state semifinals which will be held on Saturday.
Blair High School seized the Class 4A North Regional title, Winston Churchill High School collected the Class 4A West Regional title, and Springbrook High School gained the Class 3A West Regional title.
This marks only the second time in school history that Churchill has advanced to the state semifinals.
The MPSSAA State Semifinals will be held at North Point High School in Waldorf on Feb. 12, beginning at 11 a.m. Tickets for the championship games can be purchased online for $12 each.
