A Preview of MCM’s Election Night Coverage

Primary Election Night 2014  Steve Simon and Susan KenedyMontgomery Community Media (MCM) will be bringing you live election results and reaction on Montgomery Channel 21 and the MyMCMedia website on Nov. 4.

Our coverage begins at 8:30 p.m. with a live, three-minute cut in to provide you with the first election results from early voting.

Then, join us for a look “Beyond the Ballot.” This nearly 30-minute broadcast includes one-on-one interviews with outgoing Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler, long-serving Montgomery County Councilmember Phil Andrews, retiring Maryland State Senator Jennie Forehand and more.

At 9 p.m., County Cable Montgomery’s (CCM) Susan Kenedy hosts our live extended election coverage, which will include live reports from CCM’s Michael Bruen at the Board of Elections offices in Gaithersburg and CCM’s Lorna Virgili at the Rockville Hilton with Montgomery County Democrats. Kenedy will also interview a number of special guests in our studio including Communications Consultant Steve Simon (see above).

Throughout our two-hour broadcast, I will also moderate two separate panels to discuss a variety of issues from the candidates to the issues.

Our first panel includes Casey Aiken, the host of 21 This Week; Dan Reed, Just Up the Pike blogger; and, Gaithersburg City Councilmember Ryan Spiegel.

Our second panel includes Marilyn Balcombe, Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce President and CEO; David Lublin, American University political science professor and Seventh State blogger; and Jeffrey Slavin, the mayor of Somerset.

Finally, if you are not sitting in front of a television set, you can still follow us online as our election coverage will be streamed live on the MyMCMedia website. We hope you will join us.
