Accidental Drowning
At approximately 11:44 a.m. on September 10, Montgomery County police and fire-rescue units responded to the report of a drowning in Olney at a residence in the 17200 block of Sandy Knoll Drive.
When fire rescue units arrived, they found a neighbor performing CPR on a 34-month old child. The child was transported to a local hospital and despite life-saving efforts, police said the child did not survive.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the child was at his own residence and was in the care of a caretaker at the time of the incident.
