Backpack Journalism Scavenger Hunt

Around The Building With The Bloggie

That’s the name of our Scavenger Hunt and I couldn’t have asked for a better day!  After some practice interviews at the beginning of class, our future Backpack Journalists learned how to use the Sony Bloggie HD camera.  Once they got that down, they headed outside for an adventure, the Scavenger Hunt! I had fun just watching the students get their lists done. The best thing about this scavenger hunt was they could be as creative as they wanted. The footage and pictures they brought back was far beyond my expectations. If they are doing this well, I can’t wait to see what they are going to bring back next week with their stories.  They are done with class this week and are now working on their projects.  Today is by far my favorite of the class. You get to learn more about your students and see their personalities really come out. It was a day full of laughs and fun. That’s the best way to learn! If you see one our Backpack Journalists out in your community, stop and let them ask you a question or two.

As always, there is still time to get involved. We have a few spaces left in our July sessions. For more information and call 301-424-1730 ext 351 to register.
