Backpack Beat Coming Soon

Today, well actually the last part of this week has been such a bittersweet time for me. I am so excited that our reporters are finished with their news stories, but I am sad at the same time. The last story was completed and that means the end of the 2012 Summer Backpack Journalism Academy.  It has definitely been an eventful 6 weeks. (Actually, it is hard to believe that 6 weeks is already over) I feel like I was just in the planning stages of the program and now, it’s over. WOW! I am honored to have worked with some VERY talented Montgomery County students during the Summer Backpack Journalism Academy. I know that our intern Lindsay has made some really good friends too.  I am still amazed at the ideas that these teens came up with. Their stories are great and I can’t wait for everyone to see the final product. It was a crazy 6 weeks and I wouldn’t trade the time for the world. The energy at MCM will be missed.  There is just something about having a youthful vibe around the office that makes everything more upbeat and exciting! For those who are interested, we never did find the “Gnome”.

Stay tuned for “Backpack Beat” coming to the airwaves soon.

Until next summer….

Make sure you take a look at the video Lindsay put together for Session 3….
