Baltimore Comic-Con 2013
We had a blast at last month’s Baltimore Comic-Con! 2013 marked the 14th year for this well established regional convention founded by Marc Nathan. FANTASTIC FORUM went all out this year as a sponsor of the 26th Annual Harvey Awards.
In addition to our sponsorship, the show contributed to the attendees gift bags. We were making DVD copies all week in preparation!
The awards dinner was great. And co-producer, Patrick Michael Strange and I were seated at a table alongside comics creator, Stan Sakai! We got to rub elbows with numerous professionals and legends. Among the night’s winners were Paul Levitz, who received the Dick Giordano Humanitarian Award and Sal Buscema, who was recipient of the Hero Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award.
And the rest of the convention was spectacular! FANTASTIC FORUM had no fewer than three camera crews deployed throughout the convention floor and panel rooms over the weekend.
Coming soon, you’ll get to see excerpts from some of the terrific panels, interviews with comics industry professionals, retailers, fans and the outstanding cosplayers who were in attendance. And there is even more to which we can look forward as we’ve learned that beginning next year the Baltimore Comic-Con will be expanding to a full THREE DAYS! Kudos to our stalwart crew members! Baltimore marks the beginning of our fall convention coverage. The Small Press Expo (SPX) is coming up this weekend in Rockville, MD. And there will be more news soon about our latest broadcast addition in Philadelphia, PA. Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
