Bender JCC Honors Healthcare Workers at Scholarship Event

Bender Jewish Community Center honors healthcare heroes from four Montgomery Hospitals Wednesday evening in a fundraising event for its scholarship program.

“Throughout the pandemic, healthcare workers have faced unprecedented challenges. Despite these challenges, they have been our community’s leaders, guides, and caregivers,” said JCC staff in a news release.

IMAGINE begins at 7 p.m. and will be outdoors in a tent at the JCC, 6125 Montrose Road, Rockville.

Doreen Gentzler, anchor and medical reporter at NBC4, will present the Benjamin Ourisman Memorial Award for Civic Achievement to two healthcare workers each from Adventist Healthcare, Holy Cross, Medstar Health and Suburban hospitals.

Money raised will go toward scholarships for preschool, camp and after school programs, JCC Maccabi Games and fitness memberships.
