Bethesda Big Train Big Promotions


The Bethesda Big Train season is a little over two weeks away so this is a perfect time to preview some great new additions to our promotional schedule and the menu at the Home Run Cafe presented by Prime Choice Caterers.
Mark your calendars for our four Dollar Dog Nights at Big Train, kids tickets are only $2 every Monday night game, and every Friday night kids get to run the bases! Save the date for these great giveaways as well:
June 3 – First 500 fans receive an Opening Night T-shirts presented by Grossberg Company. 
June 19 – First 250 fans receive a commemorative Cal Ripken Sr. bobblehead presented by Miller & Long.
 While your enjoying Big Train baseball this summer, make sure to try these amazing new additions to our concessions menu available at the Home Run Cafe.
New Big Train Players:
This week’s round-up is dedicated to the new arrivals on the Big Train roster.  These players were not on the originally released roster, but now find themselves joining Big Train for a fun summer in Bethesda.
Blake Smith (BT ’15) currently plays for Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. So far this season at Shelton State Community College as a 2-way player, Blake Smith has appeared in 14 games, starting one. Smith has pitched 40 innings this season, compiling a meager 0.45 ERA, while recording two saves.  He has struck out 34 batters while walking 18 batters. From the plate, Smith has hit .302 with 12 RBI in 53 at-bats.
Tyler Loptien (BT ’15) is currently a freshman at San Diego State University.  He has seen limited action from the mound for the Aztecs, but in two innings he has given up two earned runs and struck out one batter.  In his high school career, he posted a 1.11 ERA with 66 strikeouts over 44.1 innings.
Zach Kirtley (BT ’15) is the everyday second baseman for the Gaels of St. Mary’s College (CA).  During his freshman campaign, Kirtley is hitting .356.  He has recorded 11 doubles and 27 RBI.  Kirtley has also walked 24 times, giving him a .441 On-base Percentage.
