The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County (LWV) hosted a virtual forum with the Board of Education candidates on May 31st, moderated by Dr. Janelle Wong, American Studies, University of Maryland.
Here is the list of the BOE candidates:
At large: Mike Erickson, Michael Fryar, J. Domenic Giandomenico, Karla Silvestre District 1: Alexander Fahmy, Jay Guan, Grace Rivera-Oven, Esther Wells District 3: Marcus Alzona, Scott Joftus, Julie Yang District 5: Valerie Coll, Dawn Iannaco-Hahn, Brenda Wolff.
The primary elections are July 19th.
LWV wants to informed voters on all the candidates with one click at https://www.vote411.org.
Also, every election year they prepared a bilingual voter’s guide in English and Spanish to “give information about each candidate, in their own words, that can help you make decisions when you vote in the July 2022 Primary Election. The LWV, a national nonpartisan organization of women and men promoting informed participation in government, does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.”
