Brothers Arrested for Silver Spring Armed Carjacking
Two brothers who police said used a handgun to carjack a woman and then returned to the scene of the crime a few hours later are under arrest.
Antonio Knox, 20 of Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring and his brother Anthony Knox, 21 of the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring are charged with using a handgun to carjack a woman who was sitting in a 2014 Ford Focus outside of a 7-Eleven store at 8101 Fenton Street in Silver Spring Friday.
Police said, the two approached a woman sitting in the passenger seat of the car and displayed a handgun at about 11:51 p.m. June 27. The woman ran from the car and called police. About two hours later police found the car parked and unoccupied in the 700 block of Silver Spring Avenue.
That same morning, the Knox brothers, returned to the 7-Eleven, according to police and were immediately recognized by the victim who was talking to police in the store parking lot.
The Knoxes were arrested and police said the two admitted to the crime. The are charged with armed carjacking. Both are being held in lieu of $80,000 bail.
Detectives continue to investigate the identity of the third suspect they say is also involved in this crime and are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect.
