Character Counts! Scholarships Available in Gaithersburg
Since the program’s inception in 1998, 74 high school seniors have received more than $140,000 to help with their continuing education costs, according to a news release from Gaithersburg.
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the City of Gaithersburg’s Educational Enrichment Committee, and are based on the embodiment of the Six Pillars of Character, personal merit, financial need, and the student’s commitment to further education. Applications are now available and should be completed online. Visit the CHARACTER COUNTS! web page for the application. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m., Friday, May 22.
