The Montgomery County Commission for Women brought local experts together on April 8 for a discussion on the challenges facing Muslim Women in the area and the stereotypes many women deal with in a post 9/11 world.

“Misperceptions and preconceptions can create obstacles to full integration into American society and to living in harmony with our neighbors,” said Judith Vaughan-Prather, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Commission for Women.

The panel filled the first floor auditorium of the Executive Office Building in Rockville where the audience heard from Nouf Bazaz, director of the Crossroads Program at the International Cultural Center, Hedieh Mirahmadi, president of the World Organization for Resources, Development and Education, and Safia Qadri of the Montgomery County Commission for Women.
