A1 Beat:

  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 4300 block of Mahan Road, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 1/1 between 1:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.  Forced entry, property taken.
  • Three thefts from vehiclesoccurred overnight from Monday, 12/31 to Tuesday, 1/1 in this Rockville beat:
    • Between 6:00 a.m. on Monday, 12/31 and 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 in the 11200 block of Troy Road.  Unforced entry; took cash, GPS mount & charger.
    • Between 1:15 p.m. on Monday, 12/31 and 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 in the 11200 block of Troy Road.  Forced entry, took a GPS.
    • Between Tuesday, 1/1 and Saturday, 1/5 in the 11000 block of Schuylkill Road.  Unlocked doors, took a satellite radio.

  • There were no significant events in the beat during this time period.

A3 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 200 block of Frederick Avenue, Rockville at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/8.  Unknown means of entry; the perpetrator was arrested.

Arrested: Male, 29, from Woodbridge, VA.

A4 Beat:

  • An attempted car-jacking occurred in the 1600 block of Yale Place, Rockville on Sunday, 1/6 at 8:50 p.m.  The victim was threatened with a weapon and the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to remove the victim’s vehicle.

Arrested: Male, age 21, from Washington, DC;

  • A residential garage burglary occurred in the 16200 block of Redland Road, Derwood between 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 and 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/2.  Unforced entry; property taken.

B1 Beat:

  • There were no significant events in the beat during this time period.

B2 Beat:

  • Two residential burglaries occurred in this Potomac beat on Friday, 1/4. 
    • Between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 10800 block of Hillbrooke Lane.  No forced entry; property taken.
    • Between 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. in the 10800 block of Maplecrest Lane.  No forced entry; property taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred at 14000 block of Gray Birch Way on Sunday, 1/6 between 12:15 p.m. and 2:17 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 10200 block of Daphney House Way, Rockville on Sunday, 1/6 between 12:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.  Attempted forced entry; no entry; nothing taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 12100 block of Devilwood Drive, Rockville on Tuesday, 1/8 between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10700 block of Cloverbrooke Drive, Potomac on Sunday, 1/6 between 1:01 a.m. and 9:14 p.m.  Unknown means of entry; nothing taken.
  • Four thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, 1/3 in this Rockville beat.  The first victim had an unlocked door and the others were ‘unknown entry’.  Loose items were taken from the vehicles:
    • Between 3:10 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. in the unit block of Eaton Overlook.  Two car chargers and loose coins were taken.
    • Between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. in the 500 block of Monet Drive.  Coins were taken. 
    • Between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. in the 500 block of Monet Drive.  Nothing was taken.
    • Between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 1/2 and 5:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Fallsgrove Drive.  Took jewelry. 

B3 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 7000 block of Natelli Woods Lane, Bethesda on Thursday, 1/3 and again on Saturday, 1/5.  Unknown means of entry; unknown whether anything was taken.

B4 Beat:

  • A burglary was reported at a construction site in the 13700 block of Travilah Road, North Potomac on Thursday, 1/3 at 5:53 a.m.  Unknown means of entry; unknown whether anything was taken.

D1 Beat:

  • A robbery/assault occurred in the 8600 block of 16th Street, Silver Spring on Friday, 1/4 at 5:00 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: (2) B/Ms, 20-30, 5’10”-6’, 150-180 lbs.

  • Five thefts from vehiclesoccurred this week in the Farmington neighborhood of Chevy Chase.  Assorted loose items left inside the vehicles were taken.
    • In the 3500 block of Hamlet Place between Thursday, 1/3 and Friday 1/4, two vehicles were entered (no sign of force).
    • In the 6500-7300 blocks of Western Avenue between Friday, 1/4 and Saturday, 1/5, entry was gained into three vehicles; two via forced entry, one via an unlocked door.

D2 Beat:

D3 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 3500 block of Anderson Road, Kensington on Tuesday, 1/8 at 11:00 a.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.
  • A theft occurred at Day Ave and Capitol View Avenue, South Kensington on Tuesday, 1/1 at 1:00 a.m.  The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim.

E1 Beat:

  • No significant activity to report.

E2 Beat:

  • A residential burglaryoccurred in the 5100 block of Alta Vista Road, Bethesda on Tuesday, 1/8 between 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Forced entry; property taken.

 E3 Beat:

  • Four thefts from vehicles occurred in the 11400 block of Rolling House Road, North Bethesda overnight from Saturday, 1/5 to Sunday, 1/6.  All of the vehicles involved had been left unlocked.  Cash and a GPS unit were reportedly taken.

E4 Beat:

  • A residential burglaryoccurred in the 10400 block of Montrose Road, Potomac on Tuesday 1/8 at approximately 1:15 p.m.  Forced entry; nothing taken.

G1 Beat:

  • An attempted strong arm robbery occurred at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Thayer Avenue, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 1/8 at 1:05 p.m.  The suspects attempted to forcefully remove property from a victim – without success.
  • A robbery occurred in the 800 block of Bonifant Street, Silver Spring on Friday, 1/4 at 10:40 p.m.  The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim.

Suspect: B/M, 20 years old, 5’8”, 150 lbs.

  • A residential burglary occurred between 12:00 p.m. on Friday, 1/4 and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, 1/5 in the 700 block of Chesapeake Avenue, Silver Spring.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • Three commercial burglariesoccurred in this Silver Spring beat:
    • Between 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 12/31 and 1:01 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/2 at the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology, 8455 Colesville Road.  Forced entry; property taken.
    • At 5:55 p.m. on Monday, 12/31 at the Children’s National Medical Center, 801 Roeder Road.  Forced entry; property taken.
      • Between 11:56 a.m. on Monday, 12/31 and 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 at the Days Inn, 8040 13th Street.  Unknown entry; property taken.

G2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred on Friday, 1/4 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the 100 block of E. Melbourne Ave, Silver Spring.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred on Friday, 1/4 at 10:20 a.m. in the 9100 block of Walden Road, Silver Spring.  Attempted forced entry; no entry; nothing taken.
  • A burglary of two storage bins occurred in the 2100 block of Walsh View Terrace, Forest Glen on Wednesday, 1/2 at 11:00 .a.m.  Nothing was taken.

H1 Beat:

  • A robbery occurred in the 8500 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 1/9 at 12:45 a.m.  The suspects assaulted the adult male victim and obtained property.

Suspects: (4) H/M’s, 20-29, 5’5” to 5’7”, 140-160 lbs, wearing dark clothing.

 

  • An armed robbery occurred in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Saturday, 1/5 at 5:58 p.m. The suspects displayed a weapon and removed property from the victim.

Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 16-24 years, 5’7” to 5’11”, 140-190lbs, wearing black masks and dark clothing.

  • An armed robbery occurred at Piney Branch Road and Garland Avenue, Silver Spring on Friday, 1/4 at 7:10 p.m.  The suspects threatened the adult male victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 15-25 years, one having dreadlocks.

  • An armed robbery occurred in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace, Silver Spring on Thursday, 1/3 at 7:00 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 20-25 years, 5’2” to 6’1”, 125-210, with dreadlocks, wearing

                  dark clothing.

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 9100 block of Linton Street, Silver Spring on Saturday, 1/5 at 10:30 p.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Monday, 1/7 between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.  No forced entry; property taken.

H2 Beat:

  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Wednesday, 1/2 and Thursday, 1/3, in this Silver Spring beat.  Vehicle parts were taken from eight Honda/Acura vehicles. These incidents occurred mostly during the late evening to early morning hours and in all of the incidents, the doors appear to have been left unlocked.  Streets affected included Venetia Mill Circle (3 incidents), Hunters Gate Court and Featherwood Drive (2 incidents each), and Oakleaf Drive.

I1 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 12400 block of Palermo Drive, Silver Spring on Monday, 1/7 between 7:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Unforced entry; property taken.

I2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, 1/5 at 5:55 p.m. in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard, Burtonsville.  Unknown means of entry; unknown whether anything was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred between 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 and 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/2 in the 14700 block of Carson Drive, Burtonsville.  Forced entry; property taken.

J1 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred on Monday, 12/31 at 7:52 p.m. in the 17700 block of Norwood Road, Sandy Spring.  Unknown entry; property taken.

J2 Beat:

  • An armed robbery occurred at Marksman Circle and Fox Chase Circle, Olney on Thursday, 1/3 at 10:49 p.m.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: black male, 20-25, 6’2”, 180 lbs. mustache, dressed in a black North Face-style coat, black hoodie, black jeans, and black shoes.

K1 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 3400 block of Hewitt Ave, Aspen Hill on Sunday, 1/6 at 2:25 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: two Hispanic males, 23-24, both about 5’ tall and thin.

  • An armed robbery occurred at Grand Pre Road and Connecticut Avenue, Silver Spring on Monday, 1/7 at 10:20 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: Five unknown race males wearing hoodies.

  • An aggravated assault occurred at Tynewick Drive and Tynewick Court, Rossmoor on Friday, 1/4 at 3:44 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon.

Suspect: black male, 20-29, 5’10, 165 lbs, wearing a black North Face jacket.

K2 Beat:

  • Three robberiesoccurred this week in this Wheaton-Glenmont beat:
    • At Georgia Avenue and Judson Road on Sunday, 1/6 at 8:05 p.m. The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: Two Hispanic males.

  • In the 12900 block of Goodhill Road on Sunday, 1/6 at 10:00 p.m.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: male, 20 – 26, 5’9” – 5’11”, 160 lbs. with a thin build, wearing a black ski mask, black jacket, and blue jeans.

  • In the 12800 block of Littleton Street on Monday, 1/7 at 4:30 a.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: (2) Hispanic males, one masked, both thin build.

L1 Beat:

  • No significant events occurred during this reporting period.

L2 Beat:

  • An armed robbery occurred at the AT&T Store, 11427 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton on Sunday, 1/6 at 4:48 p.m. The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: two black males, 20-30, one short and one tall.

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the street between J.C Penney’s and the parking garage at Westfield Wheaton Mall, Wheaton on Thursday, 1/3 at 10:00 a.m.

Arrested: Female, from Takoma Park.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 11500 block of Elkin Street, Wheaton on Saturday, 1/5 between 5:50 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.

M1 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 20200 block of Red Buckeye Court in Germantown on Thursday, 1/3 between 8:30 a.m. and noon.  No forced entry; property taken.
  • Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday 12/31 and Tuesday 1/8. A fourth event occurred on 12/26 on Locustdale Terrace in Germantown and all but one occurred between 7:55 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
    • In the event reported in the 20000 block of Appledowre Circle in Germantown, the suspect took the victim’s purse from her unlocked vehicle as she unloaded groceries.
    • In the event reported in the 19900 block of Appledowre Circle in Germantown, the victims were sitting inside of their vehicle when the suspect opened the unlocked passenger door, grabbed the victim’s purse and fled.
    • In the event reported in the 20000 block of Gateshead Circle in Germantown, the victim left her belongings on the vehicle floorboard and went inside of her residence for about 15 minutes. When she returned, she found that entry had been forced into her vehicle and her laptop, purse and iPod were taken.

M2 Beat

  • An attempted commercial robbery occurred at the Damascus Dollar Tree Store located at 9809 Main Street in Damascus on Sunday 1/6 around 7:00 a.m.  The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property from the victim.

Suspect: W/M, 6’2 to 6’3, 180-195

  • Two thefts from vehicles occurred on English Meadow Way in Gaithersburg on Wednesday 1/2 and Friday 1/4. Entry was made to both vehicles through an unlocked door. Loose change was taken in one event and an iPod and cash was taken in the other.

N1 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 19800 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Gaithersburg on Tuesday 1/8 around 7:20 p.m.  The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim.

Suspect: B/M, 5’8 to 5’10, 180-200, crew cut

  • A commercial robbery occurred at the Washingtonian Gas Station located at 12301 Middlebrook Road in Gaithersburg on Saturday 1/5 around 7:20 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and unsuccessfully attempted to remove property.

Suspect: B/M, 18-20, 5’3 to 5’5, 110-120

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10000 block of Stedwick Road in Montgomery Village on Tuesday, 1/8 between 8 am and noon.  No forced entry; property taken.
