Darn Glad to Meet You
Hello out there in the blogosphere. My name is Joe Sperling and I am a reformed lawyer who has been an insurance broker for more than 25 years. I am a native of Montgomery County, went to Blair High School (the original Blair) and the University of Maryland. Next was Georgetown Law Center and practicing law for about 16 years until I simply got burned out. I shifted to the world of insurance (despite having no polyester plaid pants in my wardrobe) and learned to play golf. My wife thinks I am a frustrated teacher, so here I am.
It is very exciting, and a little intimidating, for me to be able to reach out to you through the wonderful auspices of MyMCMedia. I hope this is the first of many posts you will do me the honor of reading. I pledge to do my best to make them enjoyable, interesting and informative.
Let’s be real, the subject of insurance can be, well, boring. It can induce sleep, if not actually cause a coma. We’re not going to do that. No yawning on the sidelines. We’re going to dance to the Isley Brothers “Twist and Shout” as we journey together to the land of “I get it!”
The things I will talk about may not be fun. Life insurance contemplates death. Disability insurance is all about being disabled. Long-Term Care insurance conjures up images of old people in nursing homes. Well, these images are not totally accurate. And there is a lot more stuff in each of these cannoli. Just like going to the dentist, the subjects may not be fun, but they are necessary. You will be rewarded for sticking with me.
OK, fasten your seat belts. We’re about to take off.
