Edgemoor Homes Evacuated for Propane Leak (PHOTOS)

Homes in Bethesda’s Edgemoor neighborhood have been evacuated as Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Hazmat services respond to a leak from a residential in-ground propane tank of more 400 gallons in the 7100 block of Fairfax Rd, according to tweets from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.

Local neighborhood streets have been closed and homes evacuated as a precaution. Piringer tweets that the leak has been contained and remaining gas will be burned off. This process may take hours.
