National Night Out Brings Residents, Police Together

National Night Out will bring communities and law enforcement together on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

The annual event is celebrated across the United States and aims to strengthen the relationship between citizens and police in order to build safer neighborhoods. In Montgomery County, block parties, games, music and more will commemorate the occasion.

Here’s how to celebrate National Night Out in Montgomery County:

Montgomery County Police
Montgomery County Police officers will be at numerous locations with food and fun throughout the evening.

First District: Rockville

  • Mt. Calvary Baptist Church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (608 N. Horners Lane)
  • King Farm from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (300 Saddle Ridge Circle)
  • College Garden Park from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (615 College Parkway)
  • Halpine Hamlet from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (5511 Halpine Place)

Second District: Bethesda

Takoma Park
The Takoma Park Police Department will have face painting, games, moon bounces, food, and more at Piney Branch Elementary School from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Police vehicles and horses will also be on display. Learn more here.

Rockville’s National Night Out will occur at various block parties around the city. Kids should keep their eye out for McGruff the Crime Dog. Rockville lawmakers and police officers will be visiting the celebrations. Learn more here.
