When E.J. Manuel left Florida State for the NFL draft no one knew how good the next quarterback in line would be. The Seminoles thought they had an irreplaceable quarterback in E.J. Manuel and that even if their quarterback was good he wouldn’t be close to Manuel. That is until freshman quarterback Jameis Winston stepped on campus. Winston has been one of the best quarterbacks this year and has been in the Heisman trophy talk.
A lot of people thought Winston was just your average mediocre quarterback but on Saturday he changed everyone’s mind. In a 51-14 win against #3 Clemson he threw for 3 TD and 444 yards with only one interception. I believe he is the best freshman in college football and you could argue a case that he is already better than E.J. Manuel. This year he has thrown 20 TDs with a completion percentage of 71.3%. He is not NFL draft eligible but if he keeps his numbers up and leads Florida State to outstanding seasons then don’t be surprised when you hear him being picked first overall. Winston has the potential to take Florida State to a National Championship this year and bring the crystal ball to Tallahassee . On November 2nd Florida State takes on Miami in Tallahassee. I think this will be tougher for Florida State then a lot of people think. If they win this game then maybe they will go to the BCS Championship. Jameis Winston leads a team with the ability to score and shut you down at the same time which makes Florida State a strong Title contender.
