Five men have been arrested for a Silver Spring home invasion that started on Aug. 1 and continued into the morning of Aug. 2, Montgomery County police said in a statement.

One of the five was arrested two days after the home invasion, which occurred in an apartment in the 8800 block of Manchester Road. The rest were arrested Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Each is being held in lieu of bail. Police arrested:

• Edwin Ajeo, 16, of the 9000 block of Manchester Road in Silver Spring. He is being charged as an adult. He was arrested on Aug. 10 and is being held in lieu of bail.

• Younus Muayad Jafar Alaameri, 23, of the 9000 block of Manchester Road in Silver Spring.  He was arrested on Aug. 4 and is being held in lieu of bail.

• Bobby Johnson, 26, of the 4400 block of Arnold Road in Suitland. He was arrested Friday and is being held in lieu of bail. Johnson faces bail review Monday in Rockville District Court.

• Dalik Oxely, 19, of the 2500 block of Darel Drive in Suitland. He was arrested Aug. 9 and is being held in lieu of bail.

• Karon Sayles, 25, of the 2500 block of Darel Drive in Suitland. He was arrested on Aug. 9 and is being held in lieu of bail.

Police said about 9 p.m. Aug. 1, the an adult resident answered the door and was met by five men. One of the men said the group was there to do some work in the apartment, police said.

The resident let the group into the apartment and the men began to act as if they were conducting an inspection, police said. A woman and a juvenile resident arrived at the apartment during this time, police said.

The residents began to question the group’s intentions and then the men began to assault the adults; one of the suspects displayed a knife, police said. The adult residents were handcuffed and at least one of the victims was blindfolded, police said.

About midnight, another female victime arrived at the apartment, police said. One of the men inappropriately touched one of the women as she was handcuffed on the floor, police said.

During the home invasion, one perpetrator told a woman that he knew she worked at a check-cashing business, and he demanded the keys and the business alarm code, police said. The woman recognized the man as a customer, police said. The men drove the resident in her own vehicle to the business twice during the night in an attempt to enter the business; the suspects were unsuccessful in gaining entry, police said.

About 8 a.m. Aug. 2, one of the men began to assault an adult male victim with a knife, police said. During the assault, the victim disarmed the suspect, which caused the remaining men to flee. The men then ran and fled in one of the victims’ vehicles, police said. The victims were then able to call 911.

The men, in addition to stealing a vehicle, also stole cash and property, police said.

Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the home and took an adult male victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries that he received during the home invasion.

The five suspects were arrested on the strength of Montgomery County arrest warrants. Criminal charges placed against the suspects in this case include home invasion, armed robbery, kidnapping, vehicle theft, and false imprisonment.

Anyone with information about this home invasion robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division; Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.
