Five Public Hearings Scheduled on Fiscal 2018 Budget Proposal
Five public hearings on County Executive Ike Leggett’s proposed fiscal 2018 budget have been scheduled from April 4 through April 6, a Montgomery County Council statement said Wednesday. More than 150 people are expected to express views about specific items and the general structure of the budget.
Leggett presented his recommended operating budget to the council March 14. Over the next two months, the council and its six committees will analyze the recommendations and will adopt a budget in late May. The budget will take effect on July 1.
The public hearings will be:
- 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4;
- 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5; and
- 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 6.
All hearings will take place in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville.
The hearings will be will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM). The channel can be viewed on Cable Channels 996 (high definition) and 6 (standard definition) on Comcast; Channels 1056 (HD) and 6 (SD) on RCN; and Channel 30 on Verizon.
