Five Things List-03Here are your five things to know today, Dec. 1st, in Montgomery County:

1. The Montgomery County Council meets today and Councilmembers are expected to elect new officers for a one-year term. The meeting will be broadcast live by County Cable Montgomery. The Council agenda is posted online.

2. Have you heard? Montgomery County’s new towing law, Bill 17-15, is now in effect. The law is designed to address overly aggressive and predatory towing practices.

3. Talk about a pest! An invasive beetle is feeding on Ash Trees in Montgomery County.

5. The Montgomery College Jazz Ensemble, directed by Alvin Trask, performs at the Theatre Arts Arena at the Rockville campus tonight at 7:30 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public.

Another thing that sounds like fun for children learning to read: School kids can read to a dog at the Damascus Library this afternoon and registration is not required.
