1. Summer of Safety: Montgomery County launches it’s “Summer of Safety” campaign today. You can find more information about staying safe on the county’s website, here.

2. President’s Briefing: Montgomery County Council President George Leventhal meets with reporters today to discuss key items facing the Council this summer. Follow @MyMCMedia on Twitter for updates from today’s briefing.

3. Office of Agriculture: The Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee (PHED) meets this afternoon to discuss the reorganization of the Department of Economic Development, and Councilmembers may also discuss a plan to create an Office of Agriculture.

4. Gaithersburg Worksession:  Gaithersburg leaders will hold a work session tonight to discuss partnership opportunities at the Universities at Shady Grove and the development status of the city’s new police station.

5. Children’s Open House: The new Silver Spring Library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and there are all kinds of fun events planned for children today, including activities about superheroes, legos and gaming. If you haven’t seen this facility, you must check it out!
