Here are five things to know today, Oct. 5, in Montgomery County, Maryland:

1. Procurement Forum: The County Office of Procurement hosts the second annual forum to assist businesses gain insight into both public and private procurement and provide opportunities for networking.

2. Travel Fair: Montgomery County Recreation hosts a free fair focused on travel for those aged 55 and up at the Holiday Park Senior Center.

3. Council business: Council committees meet today. The PHED Committee will receive an update on the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation from David Petr and take a look at incentive programs for businesses in the county. Find the agenda, here.

4. DACA and Immigration Policy: Montgomery College President DeRionne P. Pollard leads a panel discussion exploring the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and U.S. immigration policy and practice.

5. Community Town Hall: Councilmember Sidney Katz invites residents in Council District 3 to join him at Lakewood Elementary School in Rockville for a town hall meeting.
