1. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) has won the prestigious 2015 National Gold Medal Award for excellence in Parks and Recreation Management.

2. The second Bethesda Downtown Sector Plan work session takes place today. There will also be a discussion on schools and White Flint 2 Sector Plan tonight at Walter Johnson High.

3. The Montgomery County Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee will continue its discussion on proposed Bill 52-14, that would ban the use of certain pesticides on lawns and some public grass areas, this morning.

4. Montgomery County health officials have announced details about the annual flu vaccination campaign. The online appointment calendar system opens on Sept. 21.

5. A presentation on the Purple Line is scheduled tonight at the Silver Spring Civic Building.
