Gaithersburg Releases Music Video to Promote Book Festival (VIDEO)

“Save the date, and know your job is to read, read, read,” are some of the lyrics in a new music video produced by the City of Gaithersburg to tout the Gaithersburg Book Festival, which takes place on May 20th on the grounds of City Hall.

The two minute video features members of the Gaithersburg Book Festival Committee, including Mayor Jud Ashman, dancing on the grounds of City Hall with books in hand. There are also younger city residents, and even some local authors in the music video.

Ashman, who notes that he “didn’t do much dancing because it is an election year,” said the idea for the video came from GBF committee member Robin Materese, who has wanted to do a video for a few years.

“I think it is fun and awesome, and a great representation of the energy and enthusiasm of our committee and how much they love everything we are doing,” said Ashman.

With lyrics like, “can’t stop the reading,” the music is catchy and upbeat, and reminiscent of Justin Timerberlake’s popular song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”
