Leggett Joins Other Mayors in Asking Trump to Keep Undocumented Immigrant Program
Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett and 17 other mayors from across the country are asking President-elect Donald Trump to keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
DACA began in 2012 and helps to ensure that young people that were brought to the U.S. before they turned 16, and are actively seeking higher education, working or engaged in military service, can remain in their communities without the fear of deportation.
Roughly 742,000 undocumented youth have participate in DACA since it began.
