Minority Business Communities Convene for Annual Legislative Breakfast

The African American, Asian and Hispanic business communities came together on Thursday for the 21st Annual Minority Legislative Breakfast.

The three host organizations are:

  • The African American Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County (AACC-MC)
  • The Asian American Political Alliance (AAPA)
  • The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County (HCCMC)

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues that impact the minority business community in Montgomery County. The group develops an agenda of priorities which they present to elected officials who work at the County, State and Federal levels.

Elected officials presented their plans to ensure equity over the coming year. Speakers included U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin, U.S. Representatives John Sarbanes, David Trone and Jamie Raskin, Maryland Senator Craig Zucker and Maryland Representative Marc Korman, County Executive Marc Elrich and Councilmember Tom Hucker,
