Montgomery County Announces 10 Free COVID-19 Testing Locations

Montgomery County is running ten COVID-19 testing clinics the week of Aug. 31. The clinics provide free walk-in and drive-thru testing at multiple locations throughout the county. Testing is free, no doctor’s order is required, and no appointments are needed.

The clinics are using tests provided by CIAN Diagnostic Laboratories in Frederick through a contract with the Maryland Department of Health. Coronavirus genetic material is detected with a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction or PCR.  Testing is self-administered using a nasal swab.

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should call the Testing Helpline at 240-777-1755 for assistance with testing.

Home-based testing and human services screening is available for eligible residents. More information about home-based testing is available online, here.
