It’s the Year of the Monkey and February 8, 2016¬†marks the beginning of the year 4714, according to the Chinese calendar. Did you know that Asian Americans now represent more than 14 percent of the population of Montgomery County?

In this MyMCMedia Extra video, Montgomery County Council President Nancy Floreen presents Asian American community members with a proclamation, on behalf of the Council, recognizing February 8th as Lunar New Year Day, which is considered one of the most important days of celebration by Asian communities.
