Montgomery County had 5,615 unemployment insurance claims last week, ending on April 25.
This was about a 19 percent decrease from the week before ending on April 18, when Montgomery County had 6,938. Maryland overall saw 37,225 claims last week, a decrease of about 22 percent from the week before, which saw 47,545 claims, according to the Maryland Department of Labor.
