UPDATED: NWS Cancels Flash Flood Watch

UPDATED The National Weather Service has canceled the flash flood watch.

It’s going to be a rainy Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for central and southeast portions of Montgomery County (Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Silver Spring) effective from 9 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m.

According to the NWS, heavy rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible and runoff from the rain may cause rapid rises of water in low-lying urban areas as well as streams and creeks resulting in flash flooding.
