Governor Martin O’Malley, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake hosted a star-spangled celebration honoring Michael Phelps and Maryland’s 2012 Olympians and Paralympians at a public event on Monday, September 10th at 4 p.m. at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater.
Citizens were invited to attend the event to help welcome and celebrate the phenomenal achievements of Maryland’s 2012 Olympians and Paralympians.
Gold medalists Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky and other Maryland Olympians attended the event. Phelps thanked the state and his city for all their support throughout his career. He also noted noted the “O’s are back” and he touted the Ravens game tonight.
