Police Investigate Gaithersburg Bank Robbery (Photos)
Montgomery County police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sun Trust bank inside the Safeway store at 12251 Darnestown Road.
Police say the suspect entered the bank, approached the counter, and handed a note to the teller claiming that he had a gun. According to police, the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled out of the Safeway store on foot.
Police identify the suspect as a white male, 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds. Police indicate he was wearing a black and gray jacket, a black and white ski hat and gloves.
On Nov. 13, police released surveillance photos of the suspect and they are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
