A recent example that comes from the heart is reported by Michelle Glodeck, Resident Life Manager for Social Work and Intermissions at Riderwood. Below, she details a recent project in Montgomery County involving the Children’s Inn at NIH and Team Riderwood:

“Erickson Living’s Vision is to ‘Help People Live Better Lives.’ This culture often transcends beyond our community gates. On September 30, a group of Riderwood employees shared their gifts of time and energy by volunteering at the Children’s Inn at NIH (National Institute of Health).

The Inn is a private, nonprofit, residential setting located on the campus of the NIH. It offers free lodging to children, along with their families, receiving treatment at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda. Meals are not included in the lodging therefore many meals are provided through similar volunteer efforts. Samantha Kramer, Riderwood’s music therapist, organized a multi-department group to purchase food items, prepare and serve an Italian-themed meal to over 20 parents and children residing in the Inn that day.”
