Sew Much Fun

Troop 3148 and Mrs. McDonald!

Troop 3148 and Mrs. McDonald!

On January 9th, some of the girls in Girl Scout Troop 3148 and I took a sewing class instructed by Mrs. Laura McDonald. She taught us in a fun, three-hour class during which we made our own pillowcases. This was a very easy and fun class. From setting up the sewing machine to ironing out seams, this class was a blast!

The four of us learned how to measure our fabric and pin it before it was sewn. We enjoyed personalizing our pillowcases as well. We brought in our own fabric to use, and chose a decorative stitch to put on the band of the pillowcase. This class was definitely something I am looking forward to doing again. At our next class, we will be making tote bags, which sounds exciting! We definitely had an awesome learning experience.
