Slain Rockville Couple Known for Work at The Children’s Inn
Richard Louis Vilardo and Julianne Humphries Vilardo, found dead at their Rockville home Sunday the victims of a double homicide, were staunch supporters of The Children’s Inn at NIH.
The Inn released the following statement to MyMCMedia Monday:
The Children’s Inn at NIH is deeply saddened by the recent loss of our dear friends and supporters, Jody and Dick Vilardo. Jody and Dick were involved with The Inn for more than 15 years, and became particularly active four years ago when they volunteered to help raise funds for the renovation of The Inn’s two community kitchens and dining areas. “Judy and Dick were the most kind and generous people, always giving of their time and resources,” said Jennie Lucca, CEO of The Children’s Inn. “They cared deeply about our mission and helping the seriously-ill children and their families who stay at The Inn,” Lucca said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and many friends at this difficult time.”
