State Flag Ordered to Half Staff

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the Maryland state flag flown at half-staff immediately.

This is in memory of Delegate Hattie Harrision, who died yesterday. Delegate Harrison represented District 45 in Baltimore City since 1973. She was the longest serving member of the House of Delegates. The flag shall continue to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Feb. 9.

Governor O’Malley also released this statement on the passing of Delegate Hattie Harrison:

“Delegate Hattie Harrison will be remembered for being a tireless advocate for the citizens of Baltimore City. She dedicated her life to the noble calling of public service and I am proud to have called her my friend. “
