UPDATE: The victim of the homicide that occurred on Friday has been identified as Ahmadou Bamba Gueye, 23, of Takoma Park, Maryland. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is on-going.
Takoma Park Police are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 5:47pm on Friday in the 7600 block of Maple Avenue, Takoma Park.
Officers responded for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.This is an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 301-270-1100.
