Ten Acre Brush Fire on West Hunter Road in Beallsville

Firetruck close upDozens of Montgomery County firefighters responded to a ten acre brush fire on Sunday afternoon in the 26000 block of West Hunter Road in Beallsville.

Fire and Rescue Services Spokesperson Pete Piringer said the wind-driven fire was sparked by a downed power line and involved several bales of hay. He said the fire was contained but firefighters continue to monitor several hotspots as of Sunday evening.

During the fire department’s response, West Hunter Road was closed in both directions.
