On Monday night, local officials gathered to talk about some of the upcoming events planned to celebrate the town’s history.

“Celebrating our 150 years of rich history is important as we reflect upon our great founders, their goals for our community, and the moments etched throughout our history that has contributed to the fabric of the charming community Poolesville is known for today in Montgomery County, Maryland,” said Jim Brown, president of the Poolesville Town Commission. “Our series of anniversary events will mirror the small town charm of our community and the people who make our town so welcoming for families and businesses to thrive.”

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett and County Council members Roger Berliner, George Leventhal, Craig Rice and Hans Riemer helped kick off the anniversary celebration.

On April 1st, residents are invited to gather at Whalen Commons at 9 a.m. for an aerial photo, spelling out 150.
