Volunteers Needed for Earth Month Park Cleanups

In observance of April as Earth Month in Montgomery County, Montgomery Parks needs volunteers to help with park and stream cleanups taking place throughout the County. Volunteers help remove litter and larger debris while enjoying the natural environment.

The following cleanups are hosted by Montgomery Parks staff and volunteers during the month:

  • Friday, April 1 – 2 to 4 p.m. at Mill Creek Towne Local Park, 17401 Shady Grove Road, Gaithersburg

  • Saturday, April 2 — 10 a.m. to noon at Chevy Chase Local Park, 3315 Shepherd Street, Chevy Chase

  • Saturday, April 9 — 10 a.m. to noon at Burnt Mills West Special Park, 10701 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring
  • Monday, April 11 – 10 a.m. to noon at South Germantown Recreational Park,18041 Central Park Circle, Boyds

  • Tuesday, April 12 — 10 a.m. to noon at Black Hill Regional Park, 20926 Lake Ridge Drive, Boyds

The following cleanups are hosted by the City of Rockville:

Many of the opportunities require volunteers to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are able to earn Student Service Learning hours.
