Friday, Jan. 26

Tom Petty tribute concert  The David Kitchen Band and Sean Chyun & The DCeivers celebrate the life and music of Tom Petty. The Underpants Rockville Little Theatre presents Carl Sternheim’s classic 1910 farce adapted by Steve Martin and directed by Karen Fleming. The play follows a couple whose conservative lifestyle is shaken by a flash of someone else’s underwear. Jan. 26-Feb. 4 at F. Saturday, Jan. 27

Inside Out Originally written and directed by Kathryn Chase Bryer and Natasha Holmes, developed by Imagination Stage and Tell Tale Hearts Company this interactive play is best for ages 1-5. Through Feb. 11 at Imagination Stage, 4908 Auburn Avenue, Bethesda. imaginationstage.org. $14.

MoComCom: Montgomery County Public Libraries is hosting its second annual comic convention. MoComCon features panels, workshops, programs, displays, exhibits and cosplay. Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Silver Spring Library, 900 Wayne Avenue. montgomerycountymd.gov Free.

National Philharmonic: Cosmic Designs  NASA has partnered with the National Philharmonic to demonstrate the connections between science and music. A multimedia demonstration displays images of the solar system and Earth’s seas as the orchestra performs Debussy’s La Mer and Holst’s The Planets.  Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. & Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda.  strathmore.org. $25 – $82. Floyds Row British-American ensemble combine early, folk, classical, roots, americana, traditional, and newgrass. Their performances include a mix of traditional pieces from composers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, covers from modern folk singers such as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and the Grateful Dead, as well as original compositions that pull from the meld of the traditional and the classical. Sunday, Jan. 28
