What to Do When the Power Goes Out
So what do you do if your power out goes out during this weekend’s winter storm?
Three power companies provide electrical service to Montgomery County residents, depending on where you live, and all the companies request that their customers report power outages and downed electrical wires.
Here is how to do that:
Call 1.877.737.2662 to report an outage or downed wires or complete a report online. Pepco asks customers to request a call back when reporting an outage. This helps them verify if an individual or small group of outages still exist. Another option for reporting and monitoring outages is the Pepco mobile app which may be downloaded to your phone or tablet. View a map of Pepco power outages.
Call 1.888.544.4877 to report an outage or downed electrical wire. Reports may also be made online here. Report your outage via text message by texting REG to 54487. A mobile app is also available for reporting and monitoring outages. Potomac Edison outages maps are available here.
