Window Washers Dangle from Fourth Story After Scaffolding Fails

There were some scary moments for two window washers on Wednesday afternoon after some scaffolding they were working on malfunctioned at a six-story building at 1801 Research Boulevard in Rockville on June 18.

Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer reports on his Twitter account that when the scaffolding failed, the workers dangled on it about four stories above the ground.

According to Piringer, one of the workers broke a window during the self-rescue while another rappelled to the ground.

A Rockville building inspector was called to the scene to investigate, Piringer said.

The workers were not injured in the incident, he said.
