A Conversation About Community Policing Continues

What started out as meetings to discuss the importance of a trusting relationship between the police and community earlier this year,  has now turned into a call-to-action.

Montgomery County leaders hosted a town hall meeting in Silver Spring Monday evening entitled, “Working Together for a Better Community: A Continuing Dialogue on Community and Police Relations.”

This town hall meeting was the third installment of an ongoing conversation between residents and the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).

The community had the chance to voice their concerns to a panel about their concerns and how they plan to work with local law enforcement agencies.  In addition, Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger, highlighted how the police department is working the community while highlighting their efforts.

Participants in the panel discussion included the Montgomery County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Office of Human Rights, the Faith Community Working Group, the Silver Spring Advisory Board and the Montgomery County Police Department.
