1. Bill Brew: Comptroller Peter Franchot will unveil legislation to promote economic growth through the craft brewing industry and overhaul outdated laws. He’ll be at Denizens Brewing Co. in Silver Spring at 3 p.m.

2. ‘Gift Outside the Box’: County Executive Ike Leggett will be at Pike & Rose in North Bethesda at 1 p.m. to announce a public awareness campaign to encourage residents to make sustainable choices to reduce waste, support local businesses and encourage volunteerism during the holiday season.

3. Great Weekend for Local Sports: The Northwest Jaguars are state volleyball champions. The Damascus Swarmin’ Hornets win the 2A west regional football championship. And the Quince Orchard Cougars advance in the 4A state playoff action. We have great photos
