Five Things to Know for Oct. 30 in Montgomery County

Here are five things to know today, Oct. 30, in Montgomery County:

1. Cell Phone Towers: The Montgomery County Council is expected to vote on telecommunications towers during its council session today.

2. Domestic Violence Awareness: Councilmember Sidney Katz will present a proclamation on behalf of the Montgomery County Council and County Executive Isiah Leggett recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month during today’s meeting.

3. Candlelight Vigil in Takoma ParkIn Takoma Park, city leaders will host a candlelight vigil to stand against violence to mourn the loss of the victims in Pittsburgh and two African-American individuals killed at a Kentucky grocery store. The Takoma Park community will gather at the Gazebo on Carroll and Westmoreland Avenue at 7 p.m.

4. Early Voting Continues: Montgomery County voters have until Nov. 1 to cast their ballots during early voting for the Gubernatorial Election. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
