1. Rabid Bat: One week ago today, Gaithersburg animal control officers captured a rabid bat in a resident’s apartment. Now, officials are reminding residents to get their cats and dogs vaccinated against the rabies virus. There’s a free rabies clinic taking place on Sunday, July 19th, at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center, 7315 Muncaster Mill Road, in Derwood.

2. Pedestrian Struck and Killed: Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Thursday morning in Wheaton.
