1. The Montgomery County Council meets today, and on the agenda is an appointment to the Planning Board. The newest planning commissioner will replace outgoing member Amy Presley, who has served two terms.

2. The Board of Education meets today, and on the agenda is the adoption of the 2017 fiscal year budget.

3. Montgomery County officials are hosting an educational event about Elder Abuse at the Holiday Park Senior Center in Wheaton today.

4. This evening in Rockville, the Carver Coalition is holding an informational meeting to discuss the latest on the proposed school bus depot.

5. Do you like the blues and funk? Then you may want to head over to Brookside Gardens from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. because that’s where Damon Foreman is performing as part of the Summer Twilight Concert Series tonight.
