1. It’s graduation day for the Class of 2016 at Springbrook and Northwest high schools.

2. The city of Rockville has appointed a new acting chief of police, Major Bob Rappoport.

3. A community meeting will be held at Walt Whitman High School to discuss the four State Highway Administration (SHA) concepts related to improving the safety of the River/Braeburn Pkwy intersection; the site of the tragic February 27th roadside accident.

4. New York Times Bestselling Author Michael Grant is scheduled to discuss his latest book, “Front Lines” at the Bethesda Library tonight at 7 p.m.

5. It’s movie night at Long Branch Library and the feature film is “The Martian.”

ICYMI: Over 28,000 Potomac Edison customers were without power Monday across the Upcounty region.  A Metrobus crashed into a tree late Monday afternoon closing a portion of East-West Highway near Grubb Road.
