1. Dedication Ceremony: Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is scheduled to help dedicate a portion of Georgia Avenue (Route 97) in honor of fallen Montgomery County Police Officer Noah Leotta this afternoon.

2. Hard Hat Tour: MyMCMedia is going behind the scenes of the Clarksburg Premium Outlets today. During this hard hat tour, you can follow @MyMCMedia on Twitter for a sneak peek of the property’s construction progress. The grand opening for the Clarksburg Premium Outlets is scheduled for Oct. 27th.

3. Back to Work: The Montgomery County Council meets today for the first time since the elected leaders recessed for summer break. One of the first items on the agenda is a proclamation recognizing the 50th anniversary of Leisure World. Councilmembers are also expected to have lunch with David Petr, the new CEO of the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation.

4. School News: The Montgomery County Board of Education meets today, and congratulations goes out to Northwest High School in Germantown for its School of Opportunity silver recognition.

5. Are You Ready? September is National Preparedness Month and registration is currently underway for Montgomery County’s upcoming emergency preparedness classes. These free classes take place in Gaithersburg, Germantown and Silver Spring. You can find out more, here.
